Message from our Principal
The most important part of our beautiful, little school on the hill is the solid academic-couched in and enshrined in the philosophy that each child is special, always the hallmark of Catholic education. Our teachers are expected to teach; students are expected to learn. These expectations however, are the required government standards. Catholic School education is more than passing tests. Citizenship, thoughtfulness, tolerance, and professionalism are considered as important as basic curriculum. Faith, prayer, tradition, structure and discipline enhance the whole Catholic education experience.
I want the ensure you that we take our jobs very seriously. Our mission is still the same, as it was when I was in Catholic School as a child … a very long time ago … “Be it known to all who enter here that Christ is the reason for this school. HE is the unseen but ever present teacher in its classroom. He is the model of its faculty and the inspiration of its students.”
With this in mind, the future is bright, the mission never-ending. Thank you for choosing a CATHOLIC SCHOOL for your child. The sacrifice is tremendous, but the results last a lifetime.

Teaching Philosophy
Mother Mary School is a Catholic School teaching basic Catholic doctrine to students regardless of race, color, religion, or creed.
The faculty and staff believe that every child is unique as a child of God. Our aim is to educate the whole child: spiritually, physically, intellectually, and according to his/her potential. We aim to direct each child to recognize his/her dignity and to maintain it, to develop his personality and character, and to improve his/her own way of life in cooperation with all members of society in this world of change.
Together the faculty, students, and parents strive to base their lives on the principal of justice through God’s law in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Every Catholic School in the school system of the Archdiocese of Mobile shall admit students of any sex, race, color, or national origin to all the rights and privileges, program, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at school. The schools shall not practice discrimination of any sort with regard to sex, race, color, national, and ethnic origin in regards to employment.
Parents and Guardians are primarily responsible for the care and education of their children and are expected to give support and cooperation to the above ideals.
SACS Accreditation
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Mother Mary School has accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
What can accreditation mean for students?
Students who attend a school accredited by NCA CASI or SACS CASI can rest assured that the school is committed to raising student performance and held accountable for improving student learning on a continual basis.
Accreditation means that students have:
“AdvancED includes all NCA CASI and SACS CASI accredited schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide.”
* Qualified teachers who are continually working to improve their practices and teaching methods in order to increase student performance
* Access to a rich, diverse, and sound curriculum
* Access to a range of student activities and support services
* Transferability of credits from school to school
* Greater access to federal loans, scholarships, post secondary education, and military programs that require accreditation
The school credits that students earn at an NCA CASI/SACS CASI accredited school are recognized by schools, colleges, and universities globally. Through AdvancED’s reciprocal agreements with sister accrediting organizations, students can continue their educational goals in the United States or around the world.
